Pitt Cyber Announces New Policy Director

The University of Pittsburgh Institute for Cyber Law, Policy, and Security (Pitt Cyber) announced today that Jessica Kuntz will serve as its new policy director.

Kuntz joins Pitt Cyber from the US Department of State where she most recently served as vice consul at US Embassy London and previously at US Embassy Jerusalem. She also served as an economic officer to the US Mission to the United Nations and the Bureau of International Organizational Affairs.

Kuntz succeeds Chris Deluzio as policy director. Deluzio is now serving his first term in Congress representing Pennsylvania’s 17th district.

“I’m pleased to have Jess joining us here at Pitt Cyber,” said David Hickton, Pitt Cyber’s founding director. “Her diplomatic and policy experience is particularly relevant as Pitt Cyber expands its global work and continues its work at the intersection of technology and democracy.”

About Jessica Kuntz 

Jessica Kuntz brings ten years’ of experience in the federal government.  She previously served as a Foreign Service Officer with the US Department of State, with assignments at US Embassy London, US Embassy Jerusalem, the US Mission to the United Nations, and the Bureau of International Organizational Affairs. Prior to her time at the State Department, Kuntz was a federal government consultant with Deloitte LLP. She holds a B.S. in International Politics from Georgetown University, Walsh School of Foreign Service, and a Master of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. She was the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship (Croatia) and the David L. Boren Fellowship (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
