Institute for Cyber Law, Policy, and Security

AFA CyberCamp

Arrival on Monday, July 24th

Check-in is from 8:30 am to 9:30 am on Monday, July 24, 2017. There will be a designated drop-off area in front of the University Club, located between Fifth Avenue and O’Hara Street, at 123 University Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15260. If you wish to park, limited space may be available. In particular, Soldiers and Sailors Garage will be limited in the morning the week of the camp due to Pitt Start. Please check with Pitt Parking, Transportation, and Services for your best options for visitor parking. Note that, due to space limitations, parents may not shadow their child during any portion of the camp.

Upon arrival on Monday, students should check in at the registration tables inside of the University Club, where they will receive a Pitt backpack that includes their workbook, camp T-shirt, and other gift items. Students will then be directed to Ballroom B on the second floor and, following breakfast and welcoming remarks, later escorted to their assigned University computing lab elsewhere on campus.

Final Schedule

View the schedule that outlines the week’s activities—including locations, workshop topics, and keynote speakers. Note that students are expected to arrive prior to the 9 a.m. start on each of the five days. Computer labs will open daily at 8:30 a.m.

Lab Assignments and Student Pick-Up

You should have received a separate email on July 21 with your student’s computing lab assignment and directions to the building. We will do our best to assign students to labs with their school mates as space allows.

This will also be the location where your student may be picked-up following the 3 p.m. dismissal Monday through Thursday, as well as their drop-off location Tuesday through Friday morning.

CyberCamp offers lunch during the designated break each day at no charge. We will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions. However, parents are encouraged to pack a lunch if concerned about their child’s dietary restrictions.

Dress Code

Jean/casual pants or shorts are acceptable attire, and students are to wear their camp shirts every day. An undershirt is suggested to prevent having to wash the shirt daily.
