There are a lot of people in Pittsburgh doing awesome things in the field; let's get them all together! BSidesPittsburgh is a volunteer-run computer security conference held in Pittsburgh annually. Security BSides is part of a global series of community-driven conferences presenting a wide range of information security topics from technical topics, such as dissecting network protocols, to policy issues such as managing information leakage via social networks.
Pittsburgh has a flourishing information security community; this is a great chance to meet each other, share ideas and work together. Many of those professionals in Pittsburgh as well as nationally recognized experts are doing awesome things in the field; let's get together to learn, collaborate, and protect.
Location and Address
Spirit Pittsburgh (242 51st Street, Pittsburgh PA 15201)
Spirit is located at the intersection of Butler Street and 51st Street in Lawrenceville behind the Sunoco Gas Station. Spirit was formerly the Lawrenceville Moose.
Venue Information:
Spirit is a non-smoking venue. The upstairs (Hall) will be the speakers area while the downstairs (Lodge) will be the lounge featuring our sponsors. Food and beverages will be served in the lodge.
Transportation:
Spirit offers two parking lots, one in the front of the building and one in the rear of the building. There is also ample street parking around the venue. The parking lot across the street is for Goodwill customers only. Spirit is served by PAT buses 87, 91, and 93. There are no Healthy Ride bicycle stations nearby, but plenty of bicycle parking.
Lodging:
The Lawrenceville area of the city does not offer lodging yet. Downtown Pittsburgh hotels would be the most convenient to get to via public transportation.
Amenities:
We will be providing coffee and pastries in the morning from Priory Bakery. Lunch will be pizza and salad from Slice Island, the attached pizza place. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

The nearest coffee shops are Abbey On Butler at 4635 Butler Street, B52 Vegan Cafe at 5202 Butler Street, and Caffe d'Amore at 5400 Butler Street. There are no Starbucks locations in the immediate vicinity.
If you do not care for pizza, there are a number of restaurants nearby on Butler Street including B52 Vegan Cafe at 5202 Butler Street, Stinky's Bar & Grill at 4901 Hatfield Street, and Zen's Asian Diner at 5100 Butler Street. Stinky's is a smoking establishment. B52 Vegan Cafe offers a vegan menu. For the foodies, La Gourmandine is a few blocks away at 4605 Butler Street offering some of the best French pastries in the city. For the beer enthusiasts, Roundabout Brewery is a block away at 4901 Butler Street.
